How to Find Bank Codes
Dead Rails bank codes unlock vaults with priceless loot. How to get them:
- Find a bank—red brick buildings with a “Bank” sign near train tracks or settlements.
- Find the Banker Zombie (wears a black top hat) inside or near the bank.
- Kill the Banker Zombie to drop a “Bank Combo” note with a 5-digit code (e.g., 12345).
- Pick up the note or memorize the code—it’s unique each playthrough.
Tip: Sometimes the Banker Zombie spawns dead with the code nearby—check the ground!
How to Use Bank Codes
Once you have the code, open the vault this way:
- Go back to the bank vault, which has a big safe inside.
- Move the vault wheel around so that the arrow lines up with each code number.
- To open the vault, you must enter all 5 numbers properly.
- Get your treasure (gold and silver bars)!
Note: The codes are different for each game, so do this again and again.
Alternative: Blow It Open
Can’t find the code? Use dynamite instead:
- Bombs can be bought at a Gunsmith Shop for $25.
- Place the bomb close to the vault door.
- Watch out—it will blow in a few seconds, letting the vault open.
- No code is needed to get the stuff.
Warning: Dynamite noise brings zombies to you. Get ready to fight.
What’s Inside the Vault?
In Dead Rails, bank vaults hold the best loot:
- Gold Bars - Sell for $50 each at Trading Posts.
- Silver Bars - Valuable for cash or upgrades.
- Rare Weapons - Occasionally spawn for combat.
Pro Tip: Banks are rare and zombie-heavy—bring friends or guns!
